You might say there is no way I can deal with the abuse or rejection I received in the past. Jesus says, “stretch out your hand.” You say, “I’m just an angry person. I’ve tried to change but I can’t.” Jesus says, “stretch out your hand.” You say, “Porn is everywhere. I don’t like that I need it. I wish I could stop, but I can’t.” Jesus says, “stretch out your hand.” “I know my spending is out of control, my debt is so bad I don’t even want to think about it.” Jesus says, “stretch out your hand.” “I have no self-control when it comes to food, drugs, or alcohol. I’d like to be clean. I’d like to be healthy, but I don’t know how to live without it.” Jesus says, “stretch out your hand.”  I get it. We like to keep our wounds hidden, but if we want to made whole, we need to stretch out our hands in faith, and while it probably won’t be immediate, change is possible. Healing is possible. It all begins the moment you have faith to place your pain in Jesus’s hand. As a church we not only want to become holy, we want to be whole. That’s why we do what we do every week.
